| Nebraska is very good for business. Seventh best in the nation, according to Forbes magazine’s first-ever list of the “Best States for Business,” released August 16, 2006. Based on 30 metrics related to economic climate, projected growth, business costs, labor, government leadership, regulatory environment, tax and incentive programs, and quality of life, Nebraska not only fared seventh out of 50, but also outperformed several of its neighbors, including North Dakota (13th), South Dakota (17th), Kansas (21st), Wyoming (23rd), and Iowa (25th).
