Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) Survey

Regularly talking to our businesses is the best way to gain an understanding of their characteristics, opportunities and challenges. That premise led the Nebraska Department of Economic Development to establish the Nebraska Business Visitation Program in June 1999. This program uses structured, 30-minute, confidential, person-to-person interviews with area businesses. Interviewers are staff and board members of DEVCO, members of the Nebraska Economic Developers Association, and other state and local economic developers. Surveys are conducted during odd numbered years. The results are aggregated, summarized and made available to the public. DEVCO and other community leaders use the results to respond quickly and meaningfully to opportunities and barriers identified by area businesses. 2005 BRE Survey Results
