The Development Corporation of North Platte (DEVCO) continues to be the primary agency in the Lincoln County region charged with the retention, expansion, and attraction of business and industry. An expanded business base leads to a more diverse economy, a broadening of the tax base, greater employment opportunities for area residents and newcomers, and the development of additional amenities that support our wonderful quality of life. Since 2000, DEVCO, and development partners like you, have facilitated the creation of 2,976 net jobs. More than 400 of those emerged within the last ten months. Those new jobs have improved our local wealth profile by raising the median income in the city from $34,181 in 2000 to $39,472 in 2005 – an increase of over 15%. Lincoln County as a whole has seen an increase in median income of over 21%, outpacing the state's growth in median income by 1.5%.
To successfully continue the positive growth trend in our area’s economy, DEVCO is conducting a Membership Investment Campaign. Currently, over 160 businesses and individuals provide financial support to our organization by contributing at one of four membership levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze. A portion of your annual commitment will go towards the ongoing operations of DEVCO and the remainder will be used for business recruitment/incentive projects, internal/external community marketing efforts, and specialized research and studies.
